Data & Privacy

See the whole picture, including what happens behind the scenes.

Here is the short version of Qrtr’s data practices: what we store, why we need it, and how you can stay in control.

What data Qrtr stores

Depending on how you use Qrtr, we may store:

  • Your account information, such as your email and profile details.
  • Connected financial account details and transaction data you authorize us to receive.
  • The money structure you create, including Slices, rules, schedules, goals, notes, and sharing permissions.
  • Technical information, such as device type, browser, diagnostics, and security events.
  • Support conversations, feedback, and feature requests.

Why it is stored

We store data because Qrtr needs a little history to be useful. Your transactions let us show spending by purpose. Your rules and schedules let us automate the work. Your account details let us keep your data attached to you and protect access.

We also keep limited technical records so we can troubleshoot problems, protect the service, and understand whether improvements are helping.

How it is processed

Qrtr processes information through a combination of scheduled syncs, app calculations, and human support. We use your settings to organize information, match transactions to the right purpose, and show the views you ask for.

We do not make decisions about your creditworthiness, approve loans, or move money without an action you authorize. Qrtr is designed to help you see and plan, not to take control of your financial accounts.

AI usage

At launch, Qrtr does not use an AI model to make financial decisions for you or to train a general-purpose model on your transaction history.

If we add AI-powered features, we will explain what they do, what information they use, and how to turn them off before they are used on your account. We will keep human-readable controls and will not present AI output as financial advice.

Aggregate and anonymized data

We may turn individual records into broad, de-identified trends by removing or changing details that could point back to you. This can help us understand which features people use, how budgets are structured in general, or where the product is confusing.

These trends are not used to describe your personal finances, and we do not publish information that is meant to identify you.

Your controls over your data

  • Choose whether to connect a bank account and disconnect it when you no longer want it linked.
  • Edit or remove the Slices, rules, schedules, notes, and other information you create.
  • Ask us what personal information we have, or ask us to correct it when it is wrong.
  • Request account deletion by emailing privacy@qrtr.app.
  • Contact us if you want to understand how a particular feature uses your data.
