Information we collect
We collect the information needed to run Qrtr and make it useful. That can include:
- Account details, such as your name, email address, and login information.
- Financial information you choose to connect, including account names, balances, transactions, and categories.
- Information you add yourself, such as Slices, rules, schedules, notes, goals, and shared-account settings.
- Basic device and usage information, such as browser type, pages viewed, and error logs.
- Messages you send us, including support requests and feedback.
You do not need to connect a bank account to browse our public website. You choose what to connect and what to add.
How we use data
We use information to provide, maintain, and improve Qrtr. For example, we use it to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Sync the accounts and transactions you ask us to sync.
- Calculate views such as Slices, schedules, and safe-to-spend amounts.
- Respond to support requests and send important service messages.
- Understand what is working, fix bugs, and improve the product.
- Detect fraud, abuse, and security problems, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your financial data to show you advertisements from other companies.
Third-party services
Some parts of Qrtr work with trusted service providers. These providers receive only the information needed for their job and must protect it.
- Plaid. When you connect a bank, Plaid helps us establish the connection and retrieve the account information you authorize. Qrtr does not receive your bank password.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers. We use providers to host the Qrtr app, store data, send email, and monitor reliability.
- Analytics. We may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand broad product usage and improve the experience. We do not use analytics to read the contents of your transactions.
- Professional advisers. We may share limited information with advisers, auditors, or authorities when the law requires it or when needed to protect Qrtr and its users.
Providers may change as Qrtr evolves. We will update this policy when a change materially affects how your information is handled.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as we need it to provide Qrtr, meet our legal and security responsibilities, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or place it beyond ordinary use. Backups may take a little longer to cycle out, but they remain protected and are not used to run your account.
Account deletion
You can ask us to delete your Qrtr account by emailing privacy@qrtr.app. We may ask you to confirm the request so we do not delete the wrong account.
Deleting your account disconnects your bank connections and removes the account data we can reasonably delete. We may keep a limited record when the law requires it or when it is needed to prevent fraud, resolve a dispute, or protect our rights.
Aggregate and anonymized data
We may combine information, remove details that identify you, and use the result to understand general patterns. For example, we might study how many people use a feature or how often a type of budget is created.
We use this aggregate or anonymized information to improve Qrtr, publish general insights, and plan future features. It is not used to identify you or describe your individual finances.
