What are Rules?

Rules use Schedule to know when to run and move money into or between Slices.

Choose a Rule type

Choose the Rule that matches the job you want Qrtr to do.

Move
Transfers a set amount from one Slice to another.
Recurring
Prepares for an expense with a repeating due date, such as rent or an annual subscription.
Goal
Moves enough each time the Schedule runs to reach an amount by a chosen date.
Refill
Refills a fixed budget and can transfer any leftover amount elsewhere.
Round Up
Rounds transactions to a selected amount and moves the difference to a Slice.
Percent
Moves a percentage of a deposit, optionally for specific income categories.

Create a Rule

Open the Slice you want to fund and tap Create Rule. Choose a Rule type, connect a Schedule, then enter the amount, goal, or percentage that fits the Rule.

Replace with the Rule type picker and Schedule assignment flow.

Common questions

Do Rules need a Schedule?+

Rules use one or more Schedules to know when they should run.

Can a Round Up use selected categories?+

Yes. Choose specific categories or use all categories to trigger a Round Up.

What happens to money left in a Refill Rule?+

A Refill Rule does not keep the leftover amount in the Slice. You can choose another Slice to receive it.
